Pent and Gable Shed FAQs

What are the benefits of a Gable roof shed?

A gable roof has two sloped sides that meet at a central ridge, forming a classic peaked shape. This design allows rainwater to drain quickly and evenly to both sides of the shed, where it can be collected by gutters. This helps reduce water pooling and the risk of water damage.

The peaked roof also provides more internal headroom and may offer additional loft or overhead storage space compared with a single-slope roof.

What Gable shed sizes are available?

The Gable shed range is available in the following sizes:

Model Size
Gable 6 × 4 ft
Gable 8 × 6 ft
Gable 8 × 10 ft
Ultra Gable with lean-to awning 8 × 10 ft

The Ultra 8 × 10 ft Gable model includes a small lean-to awning attached to the side.

What is the internal ridge height of the Gable shed?
Gable model Internal ridge height Evidence status
6 × 4 ft 197.2 cm / 77.6 in Confirmed
8 × 6 ft 212 cm / 83.5 in Confirmed for the 8 ft-wide model group
8 × 10 ft 212 cm / 83.5 in Confirmed for the 8 ft-wide model group
Ultra 8 × 10 ft with lean-to To be confirmed Not separately identified in the supplied information

The Ultra 8 × 10 ft model may use the same main shed structure and ridge height as the standard 8 × 10 ft Gable shed, but this should be confirmed before publication.

Which direction does rainwater drain from a Gable roof?

Rainwater flows down both slopes of the gable roof. It drains towards both sides of the shed and can be collected by gutters installed along each side.

Are gutters available for the Gable shed?

Yes. Gutters are available for the Gable shed range.

What are the benefits of a Pent roof shed?

A pent roof has a single sloping roof surface, giving the shed a modern and streamlined appearance.

The single-slope design also provides practical interior space without a central roof ridge. This can make the ceiling layout more consistent and may make it easier to position shelving, tools and taller items inside the shed.

What Pent shed sizes are available?
Model Size
Mini Pent 6 × 6 ft
Standard Pent 8 × 7 ft
Large Pent 12 × 7 ft
Which direction does water drain from a Pent roof?

The pent roof panel is angled from one side of the shed to the other. Rainwater flows from the highest side of the roof down towards the lowest side.

The drainage side should remain clear so that water can flow away from the shed effectively.

Can a Pent shed be installed against a wall or fence?

Not currently. A dedicated lean-to Pent shed range is not yet available.

The Ultra Gable shed includes a built-in lean-to awning, and additional lean-to options are currently being developed.

Is the shed easy to assemble?

Yes. The sheds use a modular construction system and are supplied with a detailed assembly guide and setup video.

Smaller sheds, such as the 6 × 4 ft model, may be assembled by one person. For larger sheds, a team of approximately three to five people is recommended to make lifting, positioning and assembly safer and easier.

How much clearance should be left around a Pent shed?

Sufficient clearance should be left around the shed for roof drainage, ventilation, installation and future maintenance.

A gap of approximately 2 ft, or 60 cm, from walls and fences may be suitable, particularly on the lower drainage side of the roof. However, the official minimum clearance requirement should be confirmed in the installation guide before publication.

Can the position or direction of the Pent roof be reversed?

Generally, no. Each side panel is manufactured at a specific height to create the intended roof slope. The side panels are therefore not designed to be swapped or reversed during assembly.

The required drainage direction should be considered when deciding where and how to position the shed.

Which sheds are available with a single hinged door?

None of the shed models identified in the supplied information are listed as having a single hinged door.

The confirmed models use either double hinged doors or double sliding doors. Any model offered with a single hinged door would need to be confirmed separately.

Which sheds are available with double hinged doors?

The following models are supplied with double hinged doors:

Roof range Size or model Door type Door dimensions
Gable 6 × 4 ft Double hinged door 129.9 W × 178 H cm
Gable 8 × 6 ft Double hinged door 129.9 W × 178 H cm
Gable 8 × 10 ft Double hinged door 129.9 W × 178 H cm
Pent 6 × 6 ft Mini Double hinged door 129.9 W × 178 H cm
Pent 8 × 7 ft Standard Double hinged door 129.9 W × 178 H cm

The door type for the Ultra 8 × 10 ft Gable shed with lean-to has not been separately identified and should be confirmed.

Which sheds are available with sliding doors?

The 12 × 7 ft Large Pent shed is supplied with a double sliding door.

Roof range Size or model Door type Door dimensions
Pent 12 × 7 ft Large Double sliding door 129.9 W × 178 H cm
What is the difference between single, double and sliding shed doors?

A single hinged door has one door panel that swings open on hinges. It is a simple option that is generally suitable for smaller sheds and narrower access requirements.

A double hinged door has two door panels that swing outward from the centre. It provides a wider entrance, making it easier to move large items such as lawnmowers, bicycles, furniture and garden equipment into or out of the shed.

A sliding door uses one or more panels that move horizontally along a track rather than swinging outward. It is particularly useful where there is limited space in front of the shed for hinged doors to open.

What are the clear opening dimensions for each door type?

The supplied source lists door dimensions of 129.9 cm wide × 178 cm high for the confirmed double hinged and double sliding door models.

Door type Listed dimensions
Single hinged door Not provided
Double hinged door 129.9 W × 178 H cm
Double sliding door 129.9 W × 178 H cm

These figures appear to be the listed door dimensions. The exact unobstructed clear opening may differ slightly because of the door frame, hinges, overlap or sliding mechanism. Separate clear-opening measurements should therefore be confirmed if required.

Can I choose a different door option when ordering my shed?

No. The door type is fixed for each shed model and cannot normally be changed when ordering.

Models specified with double hinged doors are supplied with two hinged door panels, while the Large Pent model is supplied with a double sliding door.

Can the door opening direction be reversed?

Yes. The door opening direction can be reversed where supported by the model's door and frame configuration.

The required opening direction should be decided before installation. The assembly instructions should be checked to confirm the correct positioning of the hinges, frame components and locking hardware.

Can the shed doors be locked with a padlock?

Larger sheds, including models such as the 8 × 6 ft shed, can be secured with a padlock when fitted with the appropriate locking point or door latch.

The exact locking hardware supplied may vary by model. Customers should check the individual product specification to determine whether a padlock hasp is included or whether a separate locking accessory is required.
